Fuel-Grade Calcined Petroleum Coke

Fuel-grade calcined petroleum coke is usually high-sulfur coke that is used as a fuel in power plants and cement kilns. It is also used in the production of anodes for the aluminum industry. This type of coke is produced from high-sulfur and high-asphaltenic feedstocks, and the sulfur content can range from 4% to 7%.

The calcination process involves heating the feedstock to high temperatures (between 1200°C and 1400°C) in a rotary kiln, which removes the volatile components and leaves behind a granular coke. The resulting product has a high calorific value and low ash content, making it an ideal fuel for power generation and cement production.

Fuel-grade calcined petroleum coke has a wide variety of uses, including in the steel industry as a raw material for the production of electrodes, in the chemical industry as a carbon source for the production of specialty chemicals, and as a fuel for boilers and furnaces in a variety of industries. It is also used as a solid fuel in households and small industries.
